Houston Electrical was established in 1995 by Tommy Houston, winning contracts with small to medium sized manufacturing and retail businesses in his local area of Mid-Ulster. Commercial work was bolstered by residential renovations, small housing developments and through word of mouth recommendations, the company grew.

Houston quickly became known for its workmanship and customer service and the company continues to work with many of the businesses it started off with 20 years ago such as Genesis Crafty and FP McCann, both of which are now substantial employers in the Mid-Ulster area.

Business has grown organically and Houston Electrical now works all over Northern Ireland and its vans can often be seen making their way to jobs in the Republic of Ireland, East Midlands and North West areas of England.

Over the years, the company has taken on many substantial projects in various sectors, including construction, aeronautical, healthcare, business services, retail and residential. Contracts have been won through word of mouth recommendation and formal tendering processes.

Among other things, Houston Electrical is proud to have worked on considerable infrastructural projects over the years. Such contracts include site set-up on major arterial road projects both in Northern Ireland and England, and on airside runway and control systems at Belfast City Airport among others.
